What To Do When You Start Losing Purpose

Have you ever felt drained after spending time with certain people or in certain environments? Have you ever felt like you were carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? If so, you may need to work on your energy hygiene. Just like we take care of our physical bodies, it’s important to take care of our energy bodies as well. Here are some tips on how to keep your energy clear and maintain your energy hygiene.

1. Practice Self-Care

Taking care of yourself is the first step in maintaining your energy hygiene. This means getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising regularly, and taking time to do things that make you happy. When you take care of yourself, you’re better equipped to handle whatever comes your way.

2. Set Boundaries

It’s important to set boundaries with people and situations that drain your energy. This might mean saying no to things that don’t align with your values or boundaries, or limiting your time with people who bring you down. Remember, it’s okay to prioritize your own well-being. Cyndi Dale created an incredible series Energetic Boundaries. I have used her practices and advice for nearly 18 years and there is still no better out there (in my opinion) for beginner wanting to be able to clear then set their healthy space with boundaries. Karla McClaren released a set of CD's I discovered when I was 25 and living in London. Safely I can say this is when my real spiritual connection started and I have kept this set ever since.

3. Engage in Activities that Bring You Joy:

Doing things that make you happy and bring you joy can help raise your vibration and keep your energy clear. Whether it’s spending time in nature, reading a good book, or practicing a hobby, make sure to prioritize activities that make you feel good.

4. Practice Meditation

Meditation is a great way to clear your mind and connect with your inner self. It can help you release negative energy and emotions, and bring you back to a state of balance and calm. Even just a few minutes of meditation each day can make a big difference in your energy levels. I have saved some of my favourites here for creating your special space.

5. Use Crystals and Essential Oils

Crystals and essential oils can be powerful tools for maintaining your energy hygiene. Crystals like amethyst and clear quartz can help clear negative energy, while essential oils like lavender and sage can help promote relaxation and balance. Anodea Judith created an incredible series The Chakra System. Back in the day I listened to these on a 6 CD series when all the tech was not at our fingertips. Time is the irrelevant point here as they are still my number one go to and can be found in podcast, book and disc form.

6. Cleanse your Space

Just like we clean our physical space, it’s important to cleanse our energetic space as well. This can be done through smudging with sage or palo santo, or using sound healing tools like singing bowls or tuning forks. While clearing energetically is the focus this also means physically creating a calming space and usually , if you are anything like me, this means a good declutter.

By incorporating these practices into your daily routine, you can maintain your energy hygiene and keep your energy clear. Remember, taking care of your energy body is just as important as taking care of your physical body.
